Studio Overview
Understand the projects, models, workspaces, engineering apps, calculations, and reports that form Daidra Studio.
Daidra Studio is the shared environment where project context, model information, and supported engineering workflows meet. It is not a collection of unrelated dashboards: the project is the common context.
The Studio model
The core relationship is:
Project → Workspace → Model → Supported app → Calculation → Output
Not every project uses every step, and specialist capabilities depend on the engineering apps currently supported for that workspace.
Projects
A project is the durable container for a piece of engineering work. It owns the project identity and the model information used by Studio workflows. Client or property context can be associated with a project when needed.
Workspaces
The workspace is where you open and edit a project. It provides the drawing views, model tools, properties, layers, and engineering context needed to work with the shared project model.
Models
The model represents the geometry and structured engineering information in the project. Depending on the active workflow, it can include architectural elements, systems, networks, components, connections, levels, and engineering properties.
Model data is expressed in project units for the user while the engineering domain keeps consistent internal units. Accurate model inputs are essential because calculations and outputs depend on them.
Engineering Apps
An engineering app is a specialized workflow that uses relevant parts of the project model. Apps keep specialist inputs and checks focused without requiring the project to be recreated in a disconnected tool.
Calculations
Calculations belong to a supported engineering workflow. They combine model inputs, app-specific parameters, assumptions, and a versioned calculation process. Results should be reviewed with their warnings and input state—not read as isolated numbers.
Reports
Reports are technical outputs from supported workflows. A useful report should make its source project, inputs, assumptions, results, and generation context understandable. Availability and maturity vary by engineering app.
